CASE STUDY ON MENSTRUAL LEAVE PRACTICES IN INDIAN ORGANIZATIONS
Author: Aryan Kaiwade, Rupali Joshi

We live in a world where talking about menstruation is considered taboo. Girls are taught to keep their periods hidden from the outside world and unfortunately, men and society fail to recognise the excruciating pain. However, with the advent of social media, a lot of women, media organisations, individual blogs began addressing the issue and that led to the acceptance of talking about menstruation and difficulties associated with it.
Thanks to broader discussion and acceptance of the issue, two Indian organisations have decided to give paid leaves to their female employees.
However, India is not the first country to consider period leave or time off for female staff. In fact, in many countries like Japan, South Korea and Italy menstrual leave is part of women employees’ leave policy. Now in India many companies are following the footsteps of these countries and allowing female employees to take a day or two days leave during menstruation:

JEWISH STEREOTYPES IN HOWARD JACOBSON’S SHYLOCK IS MY NAME AND MERCHANT OF VENICE
Author: Pankaj Kapoor

Jewish history is full of struggles and trauma. Their exclusion and wandering life is a testimony of the ordeals they have faced in order to survive in the hostile circumstances. That restricts them from getting a normal survival. They have faced verbal hatred and physical violence. Though they migrated to new nations and formed a diaspora space for themselves even then they have to adhere to the demand of the host nations. Anti-Semitism brings the trauma of marginalization and subjugation for Jews. Christian anti-Semitism projects hatred by abandoning the Jews and characterizing them as the murderer of God. MULTICULTURALISM AND PAROCHIALISM IN KHALED HOSSEINI’S THE KITE RUNNER
Author: Pankaj Kapoor

The present paper makes an attempt to study the issue of intolerance in a multicultural society which tries to find ways to counter the fear of proximity of the Other. This paper explores the theme of guilt in detail. The paper further expands on the prevailed intolerance in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner (2003) within its Afghan context. How does multiculturalism naturalize and neutralize the political differences into cultural differences? The answer can be found in the cause of this this culturalization. When a political system deliberately does not intervene in stabilizing the society’s various factions then the concept of living in co-existence in the prevalent situation of inequality takes the backstage. The narrative of how to survive and retain your cultural identity emerges as a big problem.
