The present study investigates the impact of fundamental and technical factors on foreign institutional investment (FII) in the Indian stock market. By using monthly data from the Indian equity market, the research analyzes the effects of macroeconomic fundamentals, including GDP growth, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and market valuation indicators, alongside technical indicators such as market returns, volatility, and trading volume, on FIIs investment behavior. By using econometric techniques such as correlation analysis, multiple regression, and time-series models, the study reveals that both fundamental and technical factors significantly influence FII flows in India. The results suggest that while fundamental variables affect long-term investment decisions, technical indicators have a substantial impact on short-term capital movements.
